Print prices are determined by the quality of the paper and ink, which is why you see so many varied prices in the marketplace. girl+CAMERA is not a ‘mass production’ photography studio. Each print is a work of art. Prints that are ordered and purchased through girl+CAMERA reflect the quality level of the brand and will have a faint watermark and my personal seal of approval.

My preference is to print the images “full frame” because when taking the photograph, I frame the image the way I want the image to be. The ratio of the digital file is two to three, and why you see the slide in dimensions above in some of the print sizes. Many ‘standard sized’ prints actually crop the image, removing space around the subject. I will also print in standard sizes if that is preferred. In the case of headshots, I will crop as preferred.

Canvas prints
Canvases are lightweight, mounted on a stretcher and ready to frame.

Standouts / Float mounts
Standouts are images printed on photographic paper, mounted on a variety of materials depending on the application. The print is attached to a frame, which projects the image from the wall. Float-mounts are similar to standouts, however the box-frame is smaller than the print and is centered on the back to give the illusion that the print is floating approximately one inch from the wall. Float-mounts are lightweight and ready to hang.  Prices depend on size and quantity.

Photo books
Photo books are a great way to summarize the photo session.

13” x 10” hard cover book 20 pages (10 sheets) with jacket $150.

about the session

girl + CAMERA is a one on one, boutique-oriented service and the sessions are fun and informal. Sometimes the photo session goes quickly, other times slower, depending on the location and clothing changes. I make some deletions while shooting and leave the session with enough images to ensure the success rate that I am seeking.

I shoot on location and do not typically do studio work unless it is for product. I am seeking to find the authentic nature of the subject(s) and what is real and true, without pomp and circumstance. I am not seeking posed ‘studio’ shots unless it is the only way to achieve the desired outcome. My experience has been that studio and lights can create a tense atmosphere. I want comfortable and honest candid photographs, with a soul.

Location choice and clothing selection is up to you. I can make suggestions. Your backyard, local parks, sentimental family locations are all good choices. With clothing, simple is best. Solid colors without brands work very nicely. A special toy can help your baby, children and pet(s) feel comfortable.

After the session, I meticulously review all images and select the ones for proofing. Once selected, I may make minor calculated edits to the images, but expect to capture the shot during the shoot and not depend on editing, cropping or enhancements to do the work that I am supposed to do as I photograph. If you seek specific ‘edits’ to the images, we can discuss contracting that by the hour. I typically do not photograph weddings or events but am otherwise open and will travel almost anywhere on this planet to photograph.

To schedule a session, please email me. 48 hour notification of cancellation is required. A session agreement and release form must be filled out and signed prior to the session.

All sessions include:

  • Private online proofing gallery available for two weeks
  • Travel up to 30 miles round trip
